
Dr. Sam Harbaugh was Systems Engineering Leader for the Carnegie Mellon Red Team for the first Grand Challenge. He is teaching his Engineering of Software Intensive Systems course on campus here.
Sam received a BSEE, MSEE and PhD EE from Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon) in his hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. He has 40 years experience with real-time computer systems for process control, military and commercial applications, holds patents in process control methods and control systems and has served as principal software engineer for several large real-time computer systems development projects.
He has extensive experience teaching electrical engineering, computer science and software engineering courses at Florida Tech. Sam has been a Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering distance instructor since Jan 2000. He was very active in forming the Space Coast INCOSE (International Council on Systems Engineering) chapter.
